I need help bringing it into unity. When I brought the skypark into unity, it turned white when it was green. I don't want this to happen to the ship. What can I do to fix that, and what makes the process easier?
Here is the back half in unity!!!!:
It took a lot of texture work and adding mesh colliders to get it ready and ship shape, but here it is. :P
Tell me what you think!

Blam-Blam21 and I have been making a world. We are making it unnatural but very playable. There are wonders throughout Woopland, including elevators, movable meteorites, trees with colliders, MARS MARKET, a seesaw, and other random things; the list is endless. It is also very big, 12000, 12000. There is a road going around it. Here are some pictures of it:
As you can see, it's kind of tacky.
Here is the add that I made for it of it before I lost the file:

Skypark
I also made a stunt park in sketchup. It will also be in Ultra WOOP land. If you want to make something for it, then I will put it on the skypark [it will not appear in the contest]. Macdane already made the triple loop thing.
Here it is:

Ship
I have been making a ship for it that will be floating in the sky. It will be very big with lots of rooms. There is a lot of empty rooms and i don't know what to put in them, could you give me some ideas? I also have space for more rooms so that I could make more. I have some ideas but i need more:
- Conference room
- Lab [I'm not sure what t put in it though]
- Control room
- Movie theater [no movie though]
- Lounge
- Engine room [I don't think I'm skilled enough to make the engines though]
- Navigation room
Here are some pictures: The dimensions are in some of the pictures.
I also have it here if you want to see more of it: http://www.filefront.com/16985895/Ship.skp

Furniture contest
There will be a furniture contest for this ship. The furniture will go in the ship if it's half decent, the contest part is just for fun. :P The stuff for the ship/contest should be futuristic stuff. It can be for any existing room or you could make it for a new room idea for it. It doesn't have to be furniture it could be a a computer thingor anything else... ETC... So here begins the contest.
Needed things:
- Lab equipment -- Not really needed, but accepted
- Anything else that could be on a spaceship!
Anything else that would fit for a spaceship.
New room ideas would be good, I'm running out of ideas.
If you made something, pleas upload it onto filefront or something and give me the link so I can put it in the ship. Thanks!
Christian4mac is now in first place!
Fai holds second place!
All of Geek377's designs tie for third!
Both of supermarinespitfire's designs tie for Fourth!
AlexNB is 5th! And Tied with this is PB's second design!
Blam-Blam21 is in 6th!
Pointy Bagels is in 7th!
Champion nexar is in 8th.
Thank you everyone!!!

Incredibly stylish Gub, one of the best ships I've seen in a long time.
Excellent job!

Seems like someone has taken a look at MacDane's tutorials
Still looks incredibly creative, I'm excited to see more.

Yah... I owe a lot of credit to him. Before Could barely make anything on sketchup.

Don't forget the contest! :P

I might take a shot at the contest. Good ship.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship-Contest for stuff inside
here is my first entry though I might do something else as well:

» Reply to CommentRe: Ship-Contest for stuff inside
I like the idea man. I have some computers and screens you can use for the lab...
But a suggestion: Why not give us the room dimensions so we can make a total matching furniture set. And that way we can make sure the furniture will be in good proportion with the room.

I have a pretty nice TV i made awhile back.

Hello everybody. Supermarinespitfire's is the best, but I made one too. It is going to be in the lounge.

» Reply to CommentRe: Ship-Contest for stuff inside
Heres my (First) entry. Its a couch and a television table. The table has spiral legs.

oh and if you want to see the drawbridge just go to my bridge post, I'm sure you can make something much better though.

Another question: Does anyone know how to get rid of indents like these? I tried making a line down the middle but that doesn't work.

» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
here is my second entry, a control thing:

the idea is it's a desk with a big touch screen and I guess it could be used in the lab or the control room.» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Wow! In the lab!
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
i will tell you this now, don't use a spiral staircase it will not be nice and smooth in unity, it will be a bumpy mess as me and Achilles found out, so try some other idea
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
also may i suggest that you try to keep the poly count down in your ship, as the higher the poly count the more lag there will be
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Actually... I figured it out. :)
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Ok I won't. I was thinking that anyway, I might use it in the skypark though.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
What kind of things would I do to keep the poly count low? Are you going to enter in the contest?
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
no i won't be, but a rounded face has a higher poly count than a flat one, i.e if you were to turn hidden geometry on you will see what i mean, but don't take this the wrong way
yes you can have curved surfaces, but try to keep everything simple and clean

» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
YAY!
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
What do you mean by a scanner?
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Don't make the hologram in the hologram room the same ship.
If you do, make it an extremely simplified, low-poly version, or else you will essentially double (or even triple) your poly count.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Ok. I will make it of the escape pod thing that I will make. The escape pod will be very simple so the poly count won't be affected as much. I was wondering why the size of the file went up so much. :)
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Whee... Mmkay gub. It's not really finished yet, because I still have to add details like bottles and snacks. But for now, here's a lil preview. :)

You like?
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
There's too things.
- Try to keep the poly count low, you can still have round things and such though.
- Can you change the "soda" writing to some weird alien writing?
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
1. Yep, no worries about poly I'ma keep it simple.
2. Not sure about writing. Unless there is some sample text I can copy and paste, you cant exactly type up alien writing. Unless of course, you mean in our alphabet. :P
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
I mean draw it, but I'll do it if you don't want to
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Eh... I shall try then I guess.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Thaqnks for the dimensions. I look forward to submitting something...
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
regarding the bar, don't add the bottles and the food to it, yes you can have round things, but adding a heap of bottles will make a big poly count

Please, PLEASE put a bathroom in there. I think that should go in somewhere in the ship just because if you are making a living quarters, it would add a sense of realism. Or, if nobody will make you furniture, just make a door that says bathroom. PLEASE.

The file is probably filled with that large image. When loaded into Unity, you can lower the filesize drastically.

I have a few basic ships that I plan to use in my spaceport.
Would you by chance like to use any of them in this world? As like dropships or something.
If not I can always make furniture or something too.
I may make a futuristic looking computer.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
modo or blender?
this couldn't be sketchup, could it?
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Hmm... Ok! I can maybe animate them so they can move around. Maybe even transport buggies to the ship or the skypark. I can kind of animate, not very well though. PM me some pictures of them and I'll decide.
Thanks!
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
The best one I have looks like this

» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
I think I'm looking for something smaller.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Modo? no... Blender? no... Sketchup? Definitely not... I used Cinema 4D.... similar to modo, though.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
What kind of size would you want?
it's really not that big, but I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
I traditionally think of it as about a wingspan of about 10 buggy lengths (10m)
though it could be adjusted slightly
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Interesting, is it free?
it looks pretty good.

The pics are yet to come. I will have them up soon.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Maybe it's not the size, I guess it just looks big like a cruiser. I'm looking for something that looks more agile.
Thanks!

Ok so the movie theater is on my other Mac, halfway across the globe. But while I am on vacation, I got bored in the train so I did this... a little console that can control stuff. By stuff I mean stuff. And by stuff, I mean again, stuff. Now its up to Gub and/or Blam Blam to program it to make the buttons active.
Hmm...hope you enjoy this. And feel free to change the paint... Oh and one more thing, its in the 3D warehouse but if you want, I can export it in a Unity package.
Thats all. It was a pleasure to participate...» Reply to CommentGoogle PWNS Bing
Sadly, I did.
» Reply to CommentRe: My Second Submission
3 things:
- Awesome! It really looks great!
- We have absolutely no clue how to program. I am baffled by all the weird type.
- I forgot what the third thing was. :)
EDIT: I remember what the third thing is: Don't export it into unity. I'm exporting the whole ship as one thing.
Another thing: Maybe, it wouldn't be in the ship. Maybe it could be hidden somewhere in the terrain and it could do things like make cubes fall from the sky and activate other weird random things. :P I have many ideas for other weird random things of that type but i cannot script them. :(
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Fair enough.
Though if I were to make a cruiser, it would be much more elaborate :)
I will make something smaller
» Reply to CommentRe: My Second Submission
Yeah its gonna also be in my upcoming ship... And I made a slight adjustment, tilted the console 15 degrees so its dipped in...
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
if you need a small agile ship i have something that might qualify.......

the thingys that stick out in the back rotate at high speeds to make a magnetic field which makes this ship float.

the thingys that stick out in the back rotate at high speeds to make a magnetic field which makes this ship float. » Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Great! All it needs is a way to get into the cockpit, or something where a buggy can be so it can be transported to the ship/skypark.
» Reply to CommentRe: Agile Ship
Cool Ship dude. I had something similar t that in my design agenda. I called it the "Disk Blade" Ship. But my blades didn't stick out, but yes the initial comcep was to have the disk to rotate, creating thrust.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
I realize this is a lot to ask, but can someone else help with scripting? I don't get how. The things I want to script are probably pretty simple, like pushing a button to make a cube fall.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
easy enough, i could probably do that
I don't think you need scripting, I think there's something called a remote trigger. I think that might be what you are looking for.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest
Could you tell me how to use that? Thanks! If something does need scripting though I will defer to you.

Suggestions:
- The computer is just a see through block with rounded corners. Add a perimeter and back to create a "screen"
- What's the book for.
- The legs look rather fragile, like if I kicks them they would fall off. Make them more "attached" to the main desk.
- THe edges for the desk seem rather hard, try to smooth them out a little.

also, i'm thinking that a see through screen is more futuristic

» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest 2 days left for submissions!
If you scripted it and made it actually open doors if you pressed a button, you would get first!
Sorry, just joking :P. It would be awesome though. Nice design! Also, can you tell me how to use remote triggers?
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest 2 days left for submissions!
Raycasting.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest 2 days left for submissions!
Wait, you know how? Do share your knowledge with the class.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest 2 days left for submissions!
For some basics on usage and such, a simple google search does wonders. First Result.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest last day for submissions!
So that's what it is! That's pretty cool. What does it do to the collider that it hits? Do you have to separately script that.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest last day for submissions!
Well you could do a ray cast so that when the player is close enough, the door would open for, say, 10 seconds, and close again. It's really not hard, but scripting is required usually.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest last day for submissions!
COuld one raycast activate another raycast? Because It would be cool if when you were very close to the security thing, it would open the door with another raycast.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest last day for submissions!
Thats what triggers are for. The trigger can tell the script to activate, and the script will open the door.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest last day for submissions!
cool!
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest last day for submissions!
The nice thing is, Trigger scripts are not hard. I advise talking to Flynn, Achilles, GTR, or Aubrey about them if you want to learn.
» Reply to CommentRe: Ship and skypark-- contest last day for submissions!
GTR knows scripting?
interesting how the other 3 are all currently making/reprogramming games
I would recommend, of those listed, talking to flynn or achilles
