Yup. The title pretty much says it all.
Whenever I try to join or host a game, it returns a syntax error and nothing more happens.

This happened to me frequently when hosting websites stopped the party and therefore the links embedded in the game were jacked.

I'm getting that too. Block worlds still work though.

After selecting "use dedicated servers..." in the settings menu, I don't have the problem anymore.

Hmmm..... could just be a bug in the system it should be fixed though.

I can't make or join non-box world maps, whether or not i have dedicated servers on.
» Reply to CommentRe: world load, syntax error
Same happens to me unless the world I'm joining/hosting is one of those bare-basic "gray blocks with hexagons on them" worlds.

There are no bugs on Mars Explorer be it game or site!
*watches the tumbleweeds blow by wondering if anyone believes me*

Correct.
There are no bugs on Mars Explorer game or site.
They are IN the game and the site. *LOL*
Code with no errors is non-existant, and so is the rhinoceros!
- They don't exist. It's all make believe.
;O)

I believe you Kruncher. The thing that is happening to us right now is most likely a flaw with the Master server that hosts the games.
» Reply to CommentRe: world load, syntax error
Uh... no. The master server CONNECTS clients to servers through an IP list and a facilitator. It does not handle the Whirld loading. It is most likely Aubrey's file hosting center that is down - causing the listed files to become unusable. The block worlds work fine because they are hosted on FlyClub's geiodo.com server (wordpress based).

The hosting service was not down because I was able to download all of the whirlds when I posted mah list of them.

So you can play Unity Island etc?
» Reply to CommentRe: world load, syntax error
A temporary workaround for this bug is to use the links at my Whirld Backup Post.
» Reply to CommentRe: world load, syntax error
I believe the issue is now resolved. Is anyone else still having problems?
» Reply to CommentRe: world load, syntax error
It's working for meh too now.
EDIT: I'd like to have some feedback from others before officially resolving the post.

Since it seems terrain worlds are back in use on the game, and there have been no further comments here, I'ma resolve the post. If you're still havin' problems, feel free to contact someone for some help and we'll try to get it fixed for yah as soon as possible.
